One Aldwych in London is famous for it’s afternoon tea – keep reading to find out why
This is my review of One Aldwych. We visited One Aldwych last April during a Birthday trip to London. We were only there for a few days so we wanted to visit all the best places we could, and eat in all the nicest restaurants. So after lots of online research we found The Charlie & the Chocolate Factory inspired Afternoon tea at One Aldwych, and it really was as amazing as it sounds.
One Aldwych is a stunning hotel, located directly across from the Lyceum Theater (where The Lion King is performed). The afternoon tea is served in they’re Indigo room (photoed above). It’s £37.50 per person or £48.00 per person including a glass of Lallier Champagne or a Cocktail Charlie. HERE is the afternoon tea menu.
Like any good afternoon tea you will get a selection of sandwiches and other savory bites.
Followed by whimsical and delicious sweet treats, each made to perfection.
Aside from the amazing food, they also have a lovely selection of teas. If you usually only stick to your average breakfast tea you really need to give the flavored teas here a go. we tried a few different ones while we were there and they were all beautiful. If you want something a bit stronger than tea then you must try they’re iconic Cocktail Charlie. The cocktail is made with Dalmore whisky mixed with Grand Marnier Cherry, chocolate bitters, grapefruit juice and cherry syrup. Topped with Champagne. and it is definitely in the top three of the best cocktails I’ve ever had.
On top of this unique afternoon tea, the hotel itself is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and attentive. It truly is a memorable experience that you won’t find anywhere else and I think everyone should try at least once. ALso made sure you book well in advance because it is extremely popular!
I hope this review was helpful and informative. Please let me know if you do visit, or if you have already visited let me know what you thought of it 🙂
